East region

Josh Grimes has served as a pastor since the age of 19 when he planted his first church. He recently pastored Plainview Open Bible Church in Brookville (Dayton area), Ohio. He has also served as the youth director for East Region since 2010, a ministry which has grown and flourished. When East’s former regional executive director (RED), Tom Rupli, first shared his intent to retire, Josh, like many, hated to see him go. But as a busy pastor, serving as the next RED had not been on Josh’s short-term radar. That does not mean he had not been prepared for the task. When Josh was in his early 20s, he was discussing his rural church with Dr. C. Russell Archer (the East Region RED at the time). During their conversation, Josh made a bold statement to his spiritual hero: “You know, Dr. Archer, someday I will sit in this office because I know in my heart God has called me to do it.”

Open Bible East is dedicated to assist in growing and planting Holy Spirit-empowered churches throughout the eastern part of the United States with a large network of established churches. Our mission is to edify and equip pastors, raise up healthy churches, plant new churches to expand the kingdom, work together to fund missions both in the USA and abroad, and connect church leaders and pastors to grow the body of Christ.
