National Association of Evangelicals

Open Bible Churches is a charter member of the National Association of Evangelicals, which was founded in 1942 as a fresh voice for biblical, Christ-centered faith that was meant to be a “middle way” between the fundamentalist American Council of Christian Churches and the progressive Federal Council of Churches.

Central to everything the NAE does is the core conviction that we are called to be an Influence for Good. The NAE is a home that welcomes many expressions of evangelicalism. The association is a gathering place where evangelical institutions don’t see each other as competitors, but as collaborators in the glorious work of the gospel. The NAE makes connections, provides resources and grows influence. With a record of nearly 80 years of facilitating evangelical unity, witness and cooperation, the NAE is well situated to continue providing strategic leadership for evangelicals. To this day, the NAE remains the only institutional structure and the most representative agency of American evangelicals in the 21st century. It serves a critical need by providing stability and connectedness for evangelicals while projecting a trusted voice for the evangelical movement that speaks with wisdom and clarity. The NAE represents 40 denominations and thousands of churches, schools and nonprofit organizations who understand that together we can do so much more than on our own!
