A healthy, productive life and ministry must flow out of a “being” relationship with God. We bear fruit in life and ministry because we “abide” in the vine (John 15:1-8). Cultivating a life and ministry based in a “being relationship with God” involves three progressive stages:

(1) Spiritual Formation – establishing intimacy with God and integrity
(2) Ministry Formation – identifying and developing one’s gift mix (spiritual gifts, natural abilities, and acquired skills)
(3) Strategic Formation – defining one’s calling and focusing one’s life in submission to that calling for the glory of God
